SOLARPLATE WORKSHOP

Solarplate is a light sensitized steel-backed polymer material used by artists as an alternative printing technique. It does not use any acids and instead utilizes the sun (or a UV Lamp) and water.

Participants will gain a working knowledge of how to adapt this to their own workflows while having an opportunity to create one of their own solar etching plates. Carolyn will share how she's been using solar plates for editioning her digitally created artwork, as well as ways to photograph existing paintings/drawings to create editions with. Materials included, beginners welcome!
